Cedar Hot Tubs - Northern Lights Classic Cedar Tub

Before the time of plastic or ceramic hot tubs or spas came, people were using certain types of wood. Thanks to the very old tradition of cooperage, people have come to realize that some types of wood possess several properties that make it an excellent holder for liquids such as wine and spirits. It wasn’t too long before people tried to keep water in it. And thus, the original hot tub was born.

There were several wood varieties to choose from, but Cedar is the most popular. Cedar is naturally resistant to decaying. It also has the ability to expand when soaked in liquid. Aside from its durability and unique properties, Cedar is also a fragrant wood, helping in the way of aromatherapy. Nowadays, despite the obvious dominance of plastic or ceramic hot tubs, some company still likes to keep the old ways alive. One such manufacturer is the Northern Lights Cedar Tubs.

Northern Lights Cedar Tubs offer three kinds of wooden hot tubs: the Ofuro Japanese Soaker the Hydrotherapy tubs and the Classic Cedar Tub. The Classic Cedar tub uses 100 percent clear western red cedar. It is offered in 4 different sizes, from 4-man seating up to 10-man seating capacity. It has a height of 48 inches and a total of 43 inches of interior. This depth allows you to have the best soaking experience. Should you wish to have it shortened, Northern Lights will do so free of charge. It has a bi-level circular seat that gives you several seating heights which is perfect for your children. To keep the heat from escaping, it comes with thick Marine Grade vinyl covers for excellent insulation. For the heating mechanism, you have several choices: gas/propane, electric and even old-fashioned wood fired Chofu boiler system.

Just like the modern hot tubs or spas, the Classic Cedar tub comes with jets that provide you with hydrotherapy. However, while modern hot tubs come with a lot of jets, the Classic Cedar only has 4, and can have a maximum of 10 jets. Nonetheless, these jets are designed for cedar hot tubs and made to be durable. It includes an air valve to allow you to adjust the pressure of the jets, providing you with a customized massage. The Classic Cedar tub comes with an LED control panel to control lighting, temperature as well as the pressure of the jets.
